Giving children their right to childhood

Theatre

An inclusive and versatile tool which includes building concepts, script writing, trust building, voice modulation, creative movement and music to help children express their feelings ideas and expressions. The children of Carambolim, a village in Old Goa were bothered about the sorry state of Carambolim lake 9a heritage site) which is a lifeline of the village . One of the children Diksha Naik put on paper a concept which was facilitated into a play ‘Kuthe Gela Swatch Pani (Where has the clean water gone ?)’…. The play empahsised the pollution of the lake because of unregulated construction ,defecationand garbage which impacted the purity of the lake –a haven for migratory birds. Kuthe Gela Pani ‘was the culmination of this process which can be replicated in all villages and organization to help children bring out issues which affect their lives. The effect of this performance was seen when the children of Sunshine Worldwide School in Ribander adopted the lake and have taken the responsibility to keep it clean –This is child participation at its best. We intend to start another project ‘beti bachao beti padhao’ and would welcome your contribution to make this happen. You can support the process by

sponsoring 5 performances for a play @ Rs. 2,00,000/-
